Rat in a Cage Maze This is actually a very simple, very inexpensive and very cool project. The balance of a good haunt is always between safety, cost and coolness. I wanted to build a series of cages, but spent a whole boatload of time trying to figure out a safe and affordable way to do it. I ended up finding this awesome plastic "poultry netting" at Lowe's that looks exactly like metal but is a safe plastic. I also located some great plastic barbed wire from Oriental Trading Company of all places. We built the framework out of 1" X 2" boards (99 cents a piece) and simply stapled the plastic poultry netting and barbed wire to it. Total cost for project: $50. This is taking the place of the autopsy room from previous years, which was a huge crowd favorite, but I have high hopes that this will be a pretty cool element for the asylum. |
