Below is the second set of updates. I added 1 X 2's around the top, bottom and as accents on the side. This is both decorative and it covers up my really poorly cut seams. I ran out of wood, but the lid will also have the 1 X 2's running all the way around, as well as a 1 X 2 cross in the center.
Below is the first update. This was the first day of construction, just piecing it all together. I used 2 X 2's as support for the sides and then ran a bead of Liquid Nails all along each seam to make sure they stayed tight. I had to stop one side short of finishing because it started pouring and thundering!
