The Curved-Top Casket I really should know better by now, but alas... I was so pleased with the results of how the first coffin turned out, I wanted to make another. However, I didn't want to spend the money for the supplies, so I abandoned that idea. Then the other day we're driving home and somebody is giving away sheets of plywood! I figured "heck, I did such a good job the first time, I should really challenge myself this time." So, I set out to build a rectangular coffin with a curved lid... mistake. I did my best to whip up some plans that would work, but I ended up making some pretty big mistakes that screwed me up in the end. The big one was that I left a gap along the sides that needed to be covered, but when I did that it added 1/2" of width to the lid, so it doesn't fit flush. I ran into a host of other problems too, but in all honesty I'm still pretty impressed that it came out at all. |
